A woman became killed in an assault with a “stabbing tool” out of doors her domestic in San Carlos Thursday morning and a suspect has been arrested, authorities said.
According to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, deputies have been flagged down within the location of Magnolia Avenue and Laurel Street around 11:50 a.m. After witnesses pronounced an assault in progress. When deputies arrived, they discovered the woman lifeless at the scene.
“The deputies that first arrived on the scene had been a little beset by the scene,” Lt. Eamonn Allen of the sheriff’s office said. “We are imparting their peer support, we also are imparting aid for the witnesses that had been on the scene as well, due to the fact there had been several civilian witnesses.”
Soon after, deputies stated the suspect again to the scene and turned into detained. The suspect — later diagnosed by means of the sheriff’s office as Jose Rafael Solano Landaeta, age 33 — changed into arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of homicide.
