Ryan Grantham “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” shot his mother while playing the piano

Ryan Grantham, whose credits involve “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” and “Riverdale,” has been sentenced to life in jail for the slaying of his mom.

Prosecutors said the former actor, 24, confessed to killing his mother in his personal GoPro digicam after the 2020 incident.

“I shot her in the back of the top. In the moments after, she might have known it became me,” he stated, in line with TMZ.

Prosecutors alleged that Ryan shot his mom within the back of the top as she played piano.

Six months ago, Ryan pleaded responsible for a 2nd-diploma homicide for the demise of his mom, Barbara Waite. On Wednesday, Sept. 21, a judge in British Columbia, Canada, threw the book at him, giving him lifestyles in the back of bars. She referred to it as the case “lifestyles-shattering.”

The scenario could have been worse, too. Prosecutors claim that Ryan had aspirations of assassinating Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, as properly. In reality, one day after his mom’s death, Ryan loaded his automobile with weapons, ammunition, Molotov cocktails, and directions to the Prime Minister’s home. He even wrote about his plans for Trudeau in his diary.

CBC.Ca reported that Ryan’s notion is approximately carrying out a mass capturing at the same time as driving to Trudeau’s domestic. However, he aborted his plans and turned himself in to Vancouver police.

The judge, Kathleen Ker, said it become a “saving grace” that Ryan did no longer comply with through along with his thoughts.

Ryan — who performed Jeffery Augustine in “Riverdale” and Rodney James in “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” — will now not be eligible for parole for 14 years.
